Costal Towing, based in Ilwaco, WA, and Columbia River Marine Assistance have forged a reciprocal agreement to cover travelling boaters.
For an additional $50/year, paid to the company you are currently signed up with, a boater will be covered by the other company while boating in their coverage area.
Coastal Towing covers from Ilwaco, WA, out 25 miles in any direction, blanketing the Columbia River Bar and the estuary up to Harrington Point (River mile 25) and of course includes the Buoy 10 fishery area.
Columbia River Marine Assistance is based on Tomahawk Island and covers from St Helens River Mile 85 to Rooster Rock, River mile 129, as well as the Willamette River up to River mile 17.
The agreement covers fuel drops, jump starts, prop disentanglements, soft ungroundings and towing to the nearest repair facility.
For boaters transiting between the two coverage areas, a discounted rate is available from each company for the part of the job that is out of area.
